Delighted four out of five of the Queens WC's have gone to Brits...............not usually the case in the last few years. It makes me wonder who get them for the 2nd Nottingham Challenger.........most of the most obvious suspects are either at Queens or playing abroad!

Me too, though in terms of moving up the rankings, it's not that great - only 10 points for winning R1 at Queen's c.f. 8 in Nottingham and another 10 for winning R2 c.f. another 9 in Nottingham. Of course, if anyone manages to do a James Ward 2011-type run, Queen's becomes a lot more lucrative points-wise ... and it's a lot more lucrative financially either way.

On the financial front, the players for whom it presumably makes the most difference are Evans and Corrie, given that Ward and Edmund are already funded. On those grounds, I'm glad for Corrie, though the depth of this field makes it a pretty nasty place to make your ATP debut.
i must say that i didn't really agree with the corrie wildcard, but i didn't consider how lucrative the prize money for a r1 loss is, so i guess it's win win really.

But Evans is funded too, isn't he ? He was taken back into the fold in April by Leon Smith.
Emailed site for info - anticipate matches starting at 10.30am. Free entry and up to 500 spectators allowed in. They suggested arriving close to start time to be sure of getting in but also said they didn't expect to reach capacity. Schedule will be up on site later. Didn't answer my question about availability of refreshments over the weekend so suggest you take your own, in case.
last few times no refreshments available on site (cept if you are lucky enough to get a backstage pass ) however there are some shops etc just up by the tube station where you can buy some supplies.
Also worth keeping in mind often the matches are under way by the time they start to let people in.

I have always wondered why they do not allow the playoffs to be played when the first week of the French is on as it does kind of restrict the players schedule.
Or during the second week of the French Open, when it is highly unlikely that any Qualifier (who might need to qualify for Wimbledon, too) would still be playing.
Spectator, the second week of the French Open for the Wimbledon Q play offs potentially clashes with the Nottingham men's and women's tournaments just as the current week clashes with Queens / Birmingham / Nottingham.
The French Open itself is basically irrelevant since any Brits there ( MD or Q ) would be extremely unlikely to need to participate in Wimbledon Q play offs ( though this year it will be interesting to see if Brydan gets a Q WC if his ranking doesn't get him in ). Indeed most will be in the Wimbledon MD by DA or WC.
I think that Jake's point was that holding Wimbledon play-offs in the first week of the French Open would avoid clashing with grass court tournies where potential play-off competitors might be having good runs in singles and / or doubles.
Though an issue there would be maybe a bit early, before players had generally found their grass court legs.
