Elena wins the first set, playing well, with the Czech lady volleying very well but thankfully throwing in a couple of DF, completely out of the blue, just at the wrong moment.

Elena has been good generally; played one poor game at *5-3, serving for the set and was broken, but broke straight back to rectify it.

Well, Elena said in her interview last night that she thought she was particularly good at playing interrupted matches i.e. at staying focused and energetic even during all the down-time. And didn't she prove to be right . . .

So, let's hope there's a bit of light rain some time tomorrow . . .
