RE: Entries Week 31 - 29/07/2013

Looking at the calendar for challengers there are quite a few smaller events in Italy in the next month so I am expecting Kyle to have bash at these as preparation for the Croatia tie in umag which I expect he will be part of

anyone else slightly surprised Goodall is looking to go down the coaching route? I always heard he was a useful dubs player, would have thought he might have tried to pursue that for a while..

Just my personal opinion : I think Josh has given professional tennis playing a good shot and, for whatever reason, things haven't worked out as he'd have hoped. I think he's had enough of living hand to mouth and always being 'disappointed' i.e. under-performing what he (and others maybe) think he's capable of. (NB this is not a criticism - things often don't work out as expected, there are so many factors).

So, I think trying doubles would just be the 'poor man's option' i.e. a second best, and probably just more of the same - same lifestyle, same hand-to-mouth etc. etc.

If that's true, then he'd be better off changing tack and coaching is an obvious choice IF (and it's a really important if), IF he's keen and motivated and believes he has the skills to be a coach.

Simply being a decent player has no bearing (or very little) on whether you're a good coach. If he's just falling into coaching because he can't think of anything else then that's a really bad idea (and he should look at completely different things).

Yeah because I am sure that the £750 that he spent on that would have paid for several months on tour.

Sam Murray in Main draw at Canada but Broady might need an SE. Lisa Whybourn out of $75K in Ukraine

James Ward is in Washington qualifying but may not get there in time so hopefully can squeeze into main draw at Vancouver.

Ward would be unlucky not to make it into Vancouver. He is 1st alt with 2 SEs to clear. Alternatively if he beats Ito in the Lexington QFs he will get an SE for Vancouver anyway.

Nottingham 10K wildcards:

Eden, Freya, Brigit, Pippa and I think Sophie Watts

WCQ - Tiffany, Jasmine and Maia

Nottingham 15K could produce a record points haul for GB players.

Fitzy is still entered - 16 of the 18 direct acceptances are GB. Only Marcus Daniell and Hugo Nys the exceptions.

Should be 4 wildcards which should be GB players.(Lloyd Glasspool??)

George Coupland is first alt and should make main draw and nearly all the qualifying spots are filled by GB players

I can see 26 or 27 out of 32 will be GB players - not bad for a 15K
