As 'not thought' Kyle hasn't withdrawn from the Italian futures tournament and the deadline has passed, can he still withdraw late from the tournament and play San Marino? Or is that not aloud?

That wouldn't be aloud. Once the withdrawal deadline has past a player is committed to the event so cannot withdraw in order to play another event. For me it is the right call, it doesn't make sense to have a few weeks off and then go straight back in at challenger level.

But if he is already entered into BOTH tournaments, will he not be withdrawn automatically from the lower ranked event. I don't have access to the Challenger entry lists so I have no idea if he is down for San Marino, as he suggested in the recent article.
Either way, I do agree that it makes much more sense to "ease" himself back in with a couple of Futures before testing himself at Challenger level. He is now up to 3 on the entry list now so a chance for some decent points, if he can blow those cobwebs away quickly enough.

He was on the alternative list for the San Marino challenger and that doesn't commit you to playing qualifying.
I'm not sure Coup but there's an excellent string of events in Australia to finished the year (mix of challengers and futures). It'd be great if a Brit or two can make it as a couple of the girls manage to but I suspect not.
Hopefully Colin and Jonny get in on site but if too many decent singles players sign in on site they could easily miss out. One or both of them might seek out an alternative partner. In such circumstances a Colin Fleming / Andy Murray partnership wouldn't overly surprise me.
I called it 10 days ago. Colin Fleming and Andy Murray playing doubles in Montreal.
