Couldn't help but notice that Robin Beddow has resurfaced and is on the entry lists of several tournaments for this week, whether she plays in one is of course a case of wait and see!
Didn't Fitzy say he was travelling with Sloane for the next 5 weeks. Not sure he will be back in time for Wrexham.
No surprise but Fitzy has pulled out of Wrexham. You do wonder if things go well just how tempted he might be by the prospect of making this a permanent arrangement. Obviously giving up on his own playing career would be a hard decision but working full time with a top WTA player, getting a regular income, staying in good hotels, etc isn't exactly the worst prospect in the world.
I see that Sloane beat Sharapova last night so perhaps Fitzy can claim he is a better coach than Jimmy Connors.

I think you're absolutely right. I know I said before that it sounds awful to sort of ring the death knell on his playing career but, given the awful financial issues he has, and not insignificant health issues too, he'd be a fool not to at least consider a change of career path (and I'm sure he's not a fool ).
And, all credit to him, he's got his foot in the door at a a really high level. He can learn a lot from David Nainkin and get known himself.
I remember his blog from wimbledon about being asked, as he was hanging around, if he'd like to go on the 'hitting' list, and him saying why not, and hitting with the top men and then Sloane and enjoying it.
From his tweets, it seems that it was Fitzy himself who put his name out there for the US circuit, which shows initiative and desire.
Wish him the absolute best of luck in whatever path he chooses but it's great that's he's got this opportunity.
Quite a weak field for a GB 10k for a change. Looks like a good chance for Dan Cox to pick up even more points along with Marcus and Tom F who are the class in the field.

Hoping the young guns go well - JWH, Broady etc
The 3 outdoor hard court futures at the end of August / early September always seem have pretty weak fields.
I understand the uni boys have gone back, but no Gabb, Fitzy, Ashley, Slabba etc who would normally strengthen the numbers. Even half expected Corrie and Goodall to turn up.
Despite being quite a weak 10K in Wrexham, it's still dominated by GB players. JWH and Broady should be seeded.
Only 17 direct entries indicates WC's that have not entered originally - Goodall?
14 out of 17 direct entries. Presumably 4 WC's. The next 7 on the alts list are all GB so i would expect 21 out of 24 maind draw to be GB and then hopefully at leat 6 or 7 GB qualifiers.
Tempted to go n Sunday, but depends on who is in the qualis and how Lancs are faring at Worcs- Evan Hoyt would be interesting to watch, but i suspect he may make the main draw.
