Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
I notice Kyle is down for the challenger in Morocco. If he is going to play qualies there, it is going to be difficult for him to be in Umag for DC. I wonder if he is actually going to Umag ?

I would imagine that the Brasov crew will all move on to Umag either directly or after a 2 or 3 day return trip to GB. Kyle and Oli would be the 2 hitting partners (Kyle and Ed's role in the last match) ahead of the tie. Kyle would then have the opportunity to fly to Morocco on Thursday or Friday, leaving Oli in situ. I'm probably wrong, but since I don't think Oli is down for anything w/c 16th September anyway, there is a logic to it.

Thinking about it again, I guess there is another possiblity. That Kyle will only go down to Morocco if he gets directly into the MD. I don't know where he is on the list of alternates at the moment, but he was obviously only 1 place out of making the MD in Brasov and I doubt that the Morocco field will be much stronger, if at all. That would leave him free to travel on the Sunday or even Monday (unless he has to be there to sign in)

Wish I knew where to look for these Challenger lists. Has the deadline day for withdrawals gone by yet ? If it were a Futures, it would have been yesterday but I don't know the regulations for Challengers. I assume that there a a couple of SE slots as well that may push Kyle and Alex up the list when the time comes, if they are not taken up.
I just check the lists on the thread for the event on mtf so probably not 100% up to date with withdrawals. The MTF threads are usually quite good for updating challenger entries with the withdrawals though. (The only downside is that you have to visit MTF *shudder* )
Kyle also has at least 11 points to go on his ranking on Monday 9th which will push him up to the 310 - 315 range which I guess could also push him up the alternates list. So I'm guessing he will have a good chance of making the MD.

It doesnt work like that, Bob. It's based on the rankings at the time when the original list comes out, a few weeks beforehand - NOT the current rankings on the eve of the tournament.
