Kyle also has at least 11 points to go on his ranking on Monday 9th which will push him up to the 310 - 315 range which I guess could also push him up the alternates list. So I'm guessing he will have a good chance of making the MD.
It doesnt work like that, Bob. It's based on the rankings at the time when the original list comes out, a few weeks beforehand - NOT the current rankings on the eve of the tournament.
Darnnit. Well you have to give me marks for trying anyway.
No, at the start of week 24 (Queen's Club week), all of the top 25 had more than 40 points! That was a one-off (when Tom was no. 25 at WR 611) but after Bloomers dropped below 30 points the following Monday, there were still a few weeks when all of the GB top 25 had 30 points or more. I don't think it had happened in any previous year though.

Hoping to nip down to Shrewsbury for qualis on the Sunday. The one GB player that is in the qualis that I haven't seen is Dasha, but wouldn't be surprised if she got a wc.
Meanwhile both Marcus and Lewis seem to have found a very weak tournament in the Middle East, where I expect them to pick up plenty of points.

Looking at the list for Shrewsbury, I see Harriet Dart has entered, but is struggling to make qualis. I suspect she will get a wildcard and a point which will guarantee her a WTA ranking. I can see Dasha and Katie Boulter getting wc's as well, not too sure on the last one (Tara Moore?).
I suspect quite a few of the overseas players who have only made the cut for qualifiers will not bother turning up and quite a few of our unranked girls will get a place in qualifying.

How on earth do they play Futures in Kuwait at this time of year? Start at 8:00 pm?
I have seen some tournaments in the Middle East where they play some matches very early, i.e 9AM and some matches very late but even so it must be a killer for the players. That Marcus Willis of all people is going to play there seems very surprising.
EDIT: Just in case someone misinterprets this. I am not having a dig at Marcus but I think it is fair to say that he isn't quite the fittest guy on tour.

Was that not the case before 2013 RJA? I thought I had read that he has really got in shape this year????????
I am in awe of anyone who so much as thinks of playing tennis in that region around now. (Yes, Mr Howe, if you are reading this, that includes you!) Just walking is bad enough.
I know Kyle has multiple entries in challengers trying to make main draw, but seems quite a way off in all. Does Davis Cup count for SE?
Not sure, but usually a vast chunk of withdrawals from Challenger Main Draws/associated Alternates lists happens on the Wednesday and Thursday (today and tomorrow), so I'd be very surprised if Kyle and Alex weren't both direct entries somewhere (eg Morocco) by Friday morning.
