I take it all back, what do these new posters know, eh! Cheers seagull. Let's hope he gets a good draw now. Can't miss two bites at the proverbial cherry can he!

I think it's fair to say he did - not only a player outside the top 100 in R1 (albeit one who thrashed him a few years ago) but he's taking a seed's place too, so wouldn't have to face a seed until the QFs at the earliest if he got that far. Mr Jammy wink just hope he takes full advantage!

Winnable, but would have to play a lot better than he did yesterday.

Glad I was proved wrong...

Hajek is a very good draw.

Not only is Hajek a good draw but if Dan were to win he would play Berrer or Coric in R2 which would be very winnable. This is a genuine chance of making the QFs where he would be in line to play Kohlschreiber who is also an injury doubt. This looks like a very good opportunity if Dan can find his best tennis.

A great chance to make the semis which would out him near the top 100. Time to step up Dan

I had something in my mind about not getting both main draw win points and LL points. So, seems from Steven, that's the case in the WTA.

I actually think that makes more sense. Essentially the player lost in qualifying, they are lucky to get a main draw opportunity, and allowing them to keep both sets of points seems rather generous and makes them potentially a VLL.

Hopefully Evo can take full advantage and end up with 6 points plus.

PS : Welcome, Jaffa.

Out of interest, do the players in qualifying get access to the ATP hotel during qualifying or only if they qualify?

If they do, that would be a pretty major change for Dan in terms of hanging around for praccy / LL places than he's used to. (i.e. Challenger / Futures - it not being worth the extra £35 hotel bill to hang around)

Dan is LTA funded so travel expenses should be picked up by the LTA.

I'm probably out of touch but do we know for definite that Dan is fully funded?

I know that the powers that be said that they weren't publishing the Aegon team funded players this year (wimps) but i guess a certain amount must have got out. Do we know the others? (I know there's been LTA training camps and am assuming that those who went to those camps have some arrangement but there were training sessions at the LTA site last year with players who definitely weren't Aegon team members).

Pretty much if you have an LTA coach with you then they will be funded.

Dan is in Zagreb with Julian. Liam and Luke use Hilts and were the only ones with official coaches at Wirral 10K

For the girls - Tara travelled to HK and Aus with Jane O.

Dan would be in for the 500 for reaching the FQR in an ATP event, not sure about the 1,250 for actually qualifying(not sure on the rules for that as LL). So at the low level the money would be there.
