QF: (2) Emily Webley-Smith WR 422 v Khristina Kazimova (UKR) WR 925 (CH 706 in 2011)
Kazimova has just beaten 5th seed Kharchenko for the 2nd week in a row (last week in R1, this week in R2) to reach her first 10K singles QF since September.
In the other half of the draw, the top seed went out in straight sets today.

Have to say I'm not a big fan of Em's potential QF match-ups (Kazimova is currently a set up but a break down) but if she can come through that match which will be much tougher either way, hopefully she can keep going.
Slightly surprised she isn't staying for another week, and instead going to Preston, given we know she hates playing indoors.
She has been on the road for a month now though plus ranking points on offer and prize money for a couple of wins would make this more appealing than the lesser appeal of 10ks.
If she wins tomorrrow she won't make sign in for Preston qualies anyway so might end up signing in here instead.
On checking again thought she withdrew from sharm next week so I'm sure she can't do that.
SF: (2) Emily Webley-Smith WR 422 v (Q) Anna Vrbenská (CZE) UNR
Not sure what to make of the 17-year-old Czech - looking at her record on ITF, she has done very little before (she is only 735 in juniors with a junior career high outside the top 400 and no significant wins in senior ITFs before this week) but she has upset the 3rd and 7th seeds this week. Hopefully they both had off-days and this is a dream semi for Emily, but who knows.

SF: (2) Emily Webley-Smith WR 422 beat (Q) Anna Vrbenská (CZE) UNR by 4 & 2
FINAL: (2) Emily Webley-Smith WR 422 v (SE) Demi Schuurs (NED) WR 1098 (CH 914 in Sep)
Emily has made the Final for the loss of just 12 games in 4 matches but hasn't had to beat an opponent in the top 900 and won't have to do so in the Final either! That said, Schuurs (a former top 25 junior) reached the semis from qualifying last week and has upset the 1st and 4th seeds this week.
Schuurs' last 3 singles matches against Brits have been a loss to Nik Slater and a win against Amanda Carreras in 2012, plus a loss to Manisha Foster last month, so make of that strange selection of results what you will!
