No, no, no!
Jo, don't listen to these jokers!
The scores only 3-0, there's no pressure on this next game, or your next service.
You hear me?

At 30-0, it all looked too easy ... at 30-30, less so. But now she has match point ... saved Another, come on ...

... and that has to count as a very good day in the desert

So pleased.
I have to admit I did a little dance.
Casey will be tough in the next round, but I believe Jo can win that match.

A pretty rum old day in Preston then, but half the world away, in California, it was glorious.

OK, I have just experienced something more excrutiating than the tension of point by point LS and that is fluctuating match odds on Bet365 during that ( what proved to be ) final game, when for some reason I lost the points scores.

Jo something like 1/25 to 1/16 to 1/14 to 1/7 to 1/6 to 1/14 to 1/6 to 1/14 ( I imagine the first one was at 30-0 ) to it disappearing off screen and coming back here to confirm that she had indeed won a final game that had progressed along the lines I was kind of imagining.

Well done, Jo !

Well fought final set by Jo. Do the WTA have any stance on voodoo magic ? :)

It worked didn't it

If you're not careful, I'll turn it on you!

Qualifiers spots in MD look pretty winnable on the whole:

Karolina Pliskova
Donna Vekic (WC)
Vania King
Andrea Petkovic
Kurumi Nara
Yanina Wickmeyer
Shahar Peer
Christina McHale
Varvara Lepchenko
Lauren Davis
Chanelle Scheepers
Belinda Bencic (WC)

On current form I think Petkovic & McHale would be best avoided, but the rest are at least an even chance (with caveats); should either of our representatives qualify.

However, my (headless) chickens remain decidedly uncounted!

Great to see wins from both our girls just a bit of a shame that it only gets harder from here on in.

Well done the girls !!!

I saw Pereira play at the Wimbledon Qualifiers last year and LOVED her play - so aggressive, hogging the net, rushing up every second minute - completely different to what I expected. Don't know if that was her 'grass court' game but her against Mestach (which Pereira lost when she ran badly out of steam in the third set) was brilliant, one of the highlights. However, if she plays like that normally, I think it may well suit Heather.

I also think Dellacqua is SO dodgy - some great days and some really 'let's just throw the match away, why don't we' sort of days - way worse than the usual. Fingers crossed for JoKo.
