Excellent. I'd assumed she'd lost as you'd all gone quiet!

Naomi plays the winner of Eden's match in the SFs. Eden got broken in the first game but has just broken back in the 4th *2-2

Eden's match is quite tight at the moment

Eden leads 5-4 now back on serve - two breaks a piece

The Russian girl has not a great winning run in the last few months, so Eden has a chance.

Naomi - should really win this tournament, singles and doubles.

Shamayko has broken again unfortunately so is serving for the set. She's ranked more than 250 places above anyone Eden has beaten before so I'm impressed that it's this close, even if Shamayko isn't in great form.

Go Eden !

And as to naomi, well yes, she's number one seed so she 'should' win, but it's actually quite rare for the number one seed to win. And, looking at the GB players, some of the top seeds have sometimes really bombed (as have other countries' players of course).

When players do their 'range' goals before a tour, I always reckon that a number 1 seed should make the semis but, more than that, it's a bit pot-luck.

Eden manages to hold serve throughout the 2nd set and takes it 6-4!
