Jo badly needs to work with a sports psychologist. She always seems to me to play the scoreboard, not the ball. Some of her tennis today was a tough watch and she could easily have taken the first set despite being miles below her best.
I do like her serve, it's been tweaked, and when she gets it right it's now very very strong. There's such a good player just waiting to break through. Let's hope it comes sooner rather than later.
Yes, I hope she gets some help sorting it out (whatever 'it' is) too - as Paul says, there's such a good player in there just waiting to break through and she showed in Vancouver what she's capable of when she's 'on' and feeling confident.

I agree with Steven. She can be outstanding when she's in the zone, but all I see is a bundle of nerves at times. Overthinking. Overplaying. And then her form and technique can all but disintegrate. it surely must be a mental thing.
Dr Steve Peters, we need you. Has anyone noticed that Liverpool FC are playing with a confidence and self-belief that is ajoy to behold. Guess which club Dr Peters has been working with all season.
Jo hasn't been the same player this year, and I don't know why. Her main coach Julien Picot ( I hope that's spelt correctly) has just become a father recently so wasn't with her in Sunderland, so I don't whether he is still not travelling and that is affecting her play, and certainly she is very injury prone as well and could be much stronger mentally, but its a tough one.

No, I hadn't noticed. Where are we in the table?

Jade & Nicole take the first set in convincing fashion, 6-2
59 extra points, and the not inconsiderable prospect of $1,240 more (making $2,623 totalin doubles) is there for the taking!
Jade's the best player out there by some distance if you ignore the serve but sadly her serve is letting her down today. the Mexicans take the 2nd set 7-5 - the crowd roaring its approval
