Hmm, a tad worrying that Heather's service games have rather disintegrated with her recent shoulder issue and hence related service problems.

Typical gutsy display from Hev I think. First set was a real dogfight and just when it looked like all slipping away from her she dug in her heels and clawed her way through.

Really positive start to her comeback. Another win would be a superb bonus.

Bit of a mixture there !

Clearly rather inconsistent and generally some way below her excellent form pre injury, when latterly she seemed to be back to top 50 level of performance.

But understandable, and good fighting spirit.

Very good that she now has at least one more match to build on this and hopefully improve.

Feuerstein might be a much tougher proposition

An opponent I'm sure Hev would normally expect to beat easily, but first match back after injury any sort of win is a good result. Hev normally takes a few matches to get fully going again after injury, so hopefully this tournament will give her those matches.

L16: Heather Watson WR 122 v Claire Feuerstein (FRA) WR 124 (CH 116 in 2012)

Feuerstein didn't upset a seed in R1 - the seed in Hev's 1/8th of the draw withdrew.
