Katy emphasising the fact that she's got a great future, just needs to improve that serve.

Great follow-up win by Katy after last week.

The 13 points ( so far ! ) should take her at least into the 420s in the rankings and will take her up to GB no 8, ahead of Amanda and Emily.

For the stated unconvinced like myself that she had moved ahead of Tara and Sam in current ability, she is making quite a case. Well at least to be considered along with them :) Let's hope that she can keep this level up and on other surfaces, and of course move on.

Today's results indeed again suggest Katy and Eleanor may have overtaken or at least be on a par with Tara and Sam. Can't see a wild card for Tara now sadly wouldn't really be justified. Harriet is two ears younger than Katy and was still competitive today as well so she won't be far away in the coming months. This time next year could be where the Katys are.

Looking forward to seeing Katie Boulter this week in Nottingham as well. Wouldn't surprise me if she did more than Sam

I still don't change my mind on a MD WC for Tara if she makes the top 250 :) ( and I understand that she is likely to do so ).

Sam should get one, given she will make the top 250. I do feel both are being judged a bit harshly relative to some of the younger girls, eg. say how a win or loss against a player ranked about WR 300 would be judged.

They are undoubtedly not at their best right now, but for me haven't fallen away enough for the WR 250 target not to be what counts for them.

I do now accept that Katy is making a compelling case for a MD WC, which I don't think was there until quite recently.

Nice try Em, gave Paszek a tough time in the second set with a couple of really long games on the Austrians serve but she couldn't fashion a game point.

Tara was *15 down in the second but couldn't finish the fight back

I would still hold off on a MDWC for Katy at the moment unless of course she went on a great run here for 2 or 3 more victories. Kyle and Oli have had them in previous years and not really progressed relevant to them I think a QWC would be ideal for her Playing against more player 100-250 ranking would be good progress for her. Like she has been saying if she could get a better serve then top 100 potential easy. I think out of all the other women Naomi could get into the 100 simply because she has a great serve (when it works)

Sam and Tara should both be top 250 on Monday so according to the rules set out should both get WCs.

I didn't think Katy had much chance of getting a MDWC but I think she is starting to have a strong case. According to the live rankings on tennis forum Katy will be ranked 441 on Monday and after today's win low 400s a week on Monday. At this time last year Kyle was ranked 444 and 2 years ago Oli was ranked 482 when they both received WCs. Kyle was still a junior and Oli had won the US open juniors the year before but I think you could argue that Katy's results in the last week are more impressive than anything Kyle or Oli had achieved in the pro game at the time they got their WCs.

So I think if the lta/Wimbledon want to show consistency then Katy should really get a WC although personally I don't think they will and she will miss out.

Top 250 isn't automatic wild card. The rule is that you will not be nominated by the LTA for consideration by the AELTC unless you are top 250. Or have extenuating circumstances/junior exemption.

So LTA don't have to nominate and AELTC don't have to agree. So if they felt a player didn't merit nomination for whatever reason they can choose not to put them forward.
