Amy Bowtell got thrashed by another Japanese player in the other semi-final too.

Still, 9 points from 2 events now for Emily and her main draw wild card in Woking ensures she will join the WTA singles rankings in just over a fortnight.

Anyone happen to know why Nottingham, of all places, seems to be overrun by Japanese players this week?

Only one of the Japanese girls is based her as far as I know and regularly plays in UK events. I suspect it will be a similar exercise to when we sent a group out to Israel or the middle east.

Final:  (1) Alison Bai & Mari Tanaka (AUS/JPN) CR 691 (373+318) defeated Katie Boulter & Freya Christie UNR by 4 & 3 cry

The girls may have lost, but they've had a damn' good week!
