Neil has quite a nice draw on paper. If he wins this match, he plays winner of two qualifiers and then one of two wildcards. Needs a good run here to break back into top 500.

I wander why he is not staying on to play more clay tournaments until he is warming up for a shot at clay challenger qualification.

3-0* up when the rain came or the app gave up! He won all 3 games by 2 points, saving 4/4 bps and taking 1/1.

I would have been if Bambo hadn't got beaten by Freddie yesterday. 2 additions in one week to the Top 500 would have been dreamland.

He'll play a German qualifier in R2 but the match to decide which one it will be seems to be delayed by rain at the moment.

That is now due to be played tomorrow morning. If Neil wins that one, he will play a wild card in QF, though that wild card is ranked 26 in juniors.

Neil is a break up in the second set.

But it's going to be a long day if he somehow manages to take this to three and win - and then have to play his second match . . .
