Liam draws the player who has just won the Calgary title today and Josh gets the former top 250 player who beat him in R1 in Calgary. You could ask what's the point of being seeded if you get R1 draws like that?

Rather unlucky draws but there's no time for any of them to be upset or frustrated at the draw. Hewitt beat Nguyen back in June - Liam should look to do the same - and Josh has a good opportunity to get some revenge for last week.
You're right on both counts, of course! All I mean is that I hope that these draws don't affect either player in any way other than a passing negative, or hopefully, a positive way.
L32: Luke Bambridge WR 515 v (Q) Shane Nicholls (CAN) UNR
L32: (4) Liam Broady WR 346 v Daniel Nguyen (USA) WR 474 (CH 418 in 2013)
L32: (6) Josh Milton WR 400 v Philip Bester (CAN) WR 604 (CH 229 in 2011) - H2H 0-1 (see first post)
L32: Ashley Hewitt WR 467 v Alexander Sarkissian (USA) WR 680 (= CH)
L32: Scott Clayton WR 1180 v (Q) Matt Seeberger (USA) WR 1663 (CH 1573 in Jan)
Seeberger is 30, has never been in the top 1500 and is apparently coached by Rik de Voest.

Fair dos, I'm more considerate of decent opposition rather than - oh dear, it's a hard court. Ashley has achieved plenty results at various times on hard courts anyway.
