I predicted Kyle to be GB no 4 and WR 225, and after he won his R1 match I was looking very close to being bang on the money.
But just stop there, did he heckers and his ranking has just got worse and worse ( for me ! ) Now, he's this one stupid title match away from going up to GB no3. Enough, I say !
30-30 here and then Kyle comes up with some more big forehands to hold. Millman is playing his usual patient game. Very few errors but not taking any risks. Just a lot of rally balls coming back at Kyle down the middle of the court.
Millman nets a forehand for 0-15. Kyle tries to go big on the next return but pushes it just wide. Winning volley from Millman for 30-15 and then Kyle comes out on top of a long rally. 30-30. Another point each. Deuce. Millman hangs on.
*2-2
Three times in that game Kyle went for outright winners on return and three times he just missed. Don't mind that though. I think he has to be agressive if he is going to win today.

A (half) volley error and a missed BH and Kyle is under pressure at 0-30. At 15-40 Kyle comes to the net and thinks he has put his volley away but Millman hits a superb running forehand pass down the line for the first break of the match.
Kyle really making an effort to move Millman around the court. 15-30. But a BH goes long. 30-30. Kyle goes for a couple of big forehand winners but nets.
Two wayward BHs and Millman has SP at 30-40. Kyle saves with another heavy FH. After a couple of deuces, Millman finally decides to attack and fails dismally. Kyle holds.
4-5*
Kyle needs to make an impression on the Millman serve. No BPs so far. Easier said than done though as Millman is still looking very solid.
Kyle gets to 15-30 but a big serve down the T levels it at 30-30. Kyle is convinced that Millman has gone long on the next point but nothing is given. That would have been the BP we wanted. But not to be and Millman wins the next point as well.
First set Millman 6-4
Kyle playing pretty well in my opinion but the aggression is not quite paying off. I still think it is the right policy though.
