Well done to Alex I probably star performer of the week on the mens singles side, gutted he didn't get a SF date with the teenage phenom. Also good to see another 16 year old Ponwith do well in the lower half of the draw, obviously there are some Stella 16 year olds here and he may suffer a bit by comparison but futures QF at 16 is very promising. Ryan Storrie has beaten him previously on the Junior Circuit

Pity, but decent comeback week there for Alex. Hopefully he can build on that in the coming weeks.

Exceptionally few matches, imho, turn on a single point (contrary what one'd think from the theatricals and melt-downs you often get from players when one point goes against them) but this was one of them:

if that dead let cord at set point to Alex hadn't just dropped over the net, Alex would've won that match . . . but, hey, it happens . .
