This new partnership is really proving itself to be a top-notch one.

The only difficulty is that with all those mandatory 0s, Mr Inglot currently has to get over 150 points in any non-zero tournament he enters in order to improve his ranking.

I would tend to look at these mandatory zeros in a rather different light.

Clearly not helping his overall ranking score just now, but just by having quite a number of mandatories limits how many non mandatory scores he can count. - i.e. what the actual mandatory scores are has no effect on his non mandatory scores.

And here's the potentially really positive thing going forward - whenever Dom and partner play a mandatory event where he scored zero last year, any points they earn this year will all go to increasing his ranking total.

Sorry, yes. Agreed. What I was focusing in was that he couldn't add in tournaments (and outside the mandatories has a lowest counting score of 150, which is - in itself - rather stunning). But you're quite right, that's a separate issue, as he's currently so highly ranked, from the mandatory zeros. (If he weren't so highly ranked, presumably it wouldn't be, as if he didn't have to play a Master series tournament, he could drop the mandatory zero and add in another "best counter")
