Petition to Southwark Council Cabinet re Tennis Courts in Burgess Park

Congratulations to Kye Whyte and all who run the BMX track in Burgess Park and Peckham BMX club on his Silver medal in the Olympics. A superb facility!

Tennis courts have lights but still no roof.

Well done to him and the womens rider who won gold - wasnt it also Kye's brother , Tre, who won a medal last time in Rio?

Thats our first BMX Olympic medals but yes Tre has had some success, he didnt get selected for the world champs in 2014 so self funded and won bronze. Didnt get selected again in 2016 despite being British Champion the rules had changed so he couldnt go, my impression is he was struggling in terms of adjusting to being in Manchester and training within the formal British Cycling set up which must be a very different environment from what he was used to. Obviously BMX racing is primarily a test of your physiology before being a test of your cycling and racing skills so no short cuts.
