RE: Wimbledon Wildcards Announced

Neil just lost 7-6 6-4. Said Bloomfield was just too good on the grass. Opposite to the results last year. Never mind - on his way to Notts now.

Very sorry for Neil but, I cannot help but be chuffed for Richard. I'd really like to see him get through but, when its Brit against Brit the very obvious fact that one has to lose really takes the shine off it.

Looks like being prejudice against this player defeating baghidatis deserved one no ?

Not to mention a win against Darcis in Queens qualies, and his general upwards trajectory of the last 6 months.

However, there are still MDWC's to be given out as well as some for qualies and I'd be surprised if Brydan doesn't receive one of these. Maybe just making him sweat?!

He doesn't need a wild card for qualifying.

Do we think those four will get the Wildcards then or will they have to play for them?

Of course not, momentary brain fail from me there.

Still, regarding the MD, best wait and see where the others go before getting too wound up about it

Interesting final four and more underwhelming performing by some of the alleged "underranked".

They play in the final 2 matches this afternoon R Bloomfield v D Evans, R Gabb v A Ward. The 2 winners get a QWC.

It's quite novel to have a Brit that quite so easily makes Wimbledon qualifying under their own steam and isn't given a MD WC.

So some disorientation is understandable.

Very generous of you Indy. Whether its WC or Q's, Brydan's recent form would suggest he could at least give a decent account of himself

Brydan Klein has now been given a main draw wc along with Matthew Ebden. A good decision for me on both counts.

Give 'em all a Q wildcard - they've got plenty to give out.... it will still leave them with two left over for whoever they fancy....

And well done to Brydan smile

Doubles wildcard also added for Hewitt and Kokki

That leaves the final wild card for the winner of Ilkley although Ebden looks like he is about to make the final there where he will again play Kudla. Possible that whatever the result they give the last wild card to Kudla for having made two finals.
