Very sorry for Neil but, I cannot help but be chuffed for Richard. I'd really like to see him get through but, when its Brit against Brit the very obvious fact that one has to lose really takes the shine off it.
One more main draw WC to be announced presumably Kudla
One doubles pair to be announced
two more qualifying wildcards(could be three if Ed doesn't need one) - would they give it to the semi finalists in the playoffs or top foreign juniors?

there are four more qualifying wildcards (or five, If Ed doesn't need one)
Glad Evo won, especially given he played two matches today including a three setter. Hopefully it shows he is over his knee issues and there is no reason why he can not get win some qualies matches and (get close to) qualifying.
But Richard Gabb was the dark horse - coming through, with no one having picked him or noted him as a potential. To be the best of my recollection, it's the first time he'll have been in Wimbly qualis (or indeed Wimbledon of any kind) so a really great day for him.
From a purely selfish point of view gutted Brydan got a wildcard, I wanted to see him play in qualifying but suppose you can't be selfish. Well done to Evo and the Richards one for getting there and one for getting so close.
Couple of impressive wins for Gabb. I remember him setting a CH in the low 400s not too long ago, just from pure consistency but rarely ever beating a higher ranked player. Seems to have fallen away a bit since.
Interesting to see the same two finalists in the Ilkley challenger as last week. I think Kudla definitely deserves the final WC, regardless of who wins tomorrow.

He has tendinitis, so it's just a matter having to manage it, not easy.
Ed is now second alt for qualifying so will almost certainly not need the wild card.
I am genuinely bemused by the situation with qualifying wild cards. To only give 3 out before the play off is mad as it seems most likely that several play off losers will be getting qualifying wild cards anyway which makes a mockery of the whole thing. If they wanted to give 4 of the play off players a wild card they should have either doubled the draw to 32 or reduced the number of rounds to 2.
I agree. And it shoots yourself in the foot if you don't get the draw you want. i.e. if the LTA/AELTC wanted to give Luke, say, a wildcard, he always could have come up against the top seed in round one.... to only give three out of nine wildcards on day one seems bizarre in the extreme - what are they waiting for???
From a press point of view, too, no one cares who loses in the qualis so there's nowhere near the same pressure not to give out 'easy' wildcards....
Don't understand, also, why there are 9 potential wildcards for men listed and 8 for women....
