Looks a nice first match on the face of it.

whole draw looks pretty open this week too - no-one James should fear really. can hopefully defend a good proportion of the remaining points coming off this year.
one match at a time and all though - one swallow doesn't make a summer!

As you say, one match at a time. BUT hoping for another good week off the back of Bangalore. James' title there has already covered his challenger F and SF points from last November, so all he has left to defend now are his 40 DC points (dropping on 31st December)

Some perspective here, James would need to win 3 more challenger titles before years end to be main draw Australia Open.

I gave up on James making the MD in Oz quite a while ago to be honest! We all know his real target is ending the year ahead of Brydan anyway Jaggy wink

I think he's got a shot at the Pune title.

The 5th seed, James' potential QF opponent, was knocked out today. Another nice draw, it seems.

Can't argue with that. Really hope James can take full advantage again this week and go deep. He's certainly giving Leon some thinking to do too!
