RE: Week 43 - Challenger ($50,000) - KPIT-MSLTA Challenger, Pune, India (hard)

Great stuff. 10 wins on the trot now if you count the two practice sets in Pune before the tournament kicked off. Just very pleasing to see Dino back in the winning habit.

Good stuff James.
Shake there's no streaming from Pune (unless someone can correct me), would be good to see how he's playing, though stats looked good today

It may be on a youtube channel - Indian's seem to stream their own events rather than the ATP

I think Jaffa may know the answer to the streaming question given this comment: "That's the best I've seen him play in a very long time".

So come on Jaffa. Out with the secret  smile

There is no doubt that James is very canny in his scheduling and prepared to play tournaments that require so discomfort to get to and play in, not something to be criticised for particularly when he does the business. Personally I love the attitude and feel it is one of the things that has taken him from outside the worlds top 1000 juniors to breach the top 100 as a senior. Make the most of the good life while it is on offer and do what you have to when it isn't

To be honest at this stage of the year after the last few months I honestly couldn't care less about the quality of opposition. Wins breed confidence and I believe that can translate from one level to the next. And the headline figure is that James has now bagged 109 points in the last week and a half, and could add a fair few more to that still this week. If he wants to travel to India to make the most of a weaker field and notch up some wins, more power to him.

SF:  (1) Yuki Bhambri (IND) WR 105 (CH = 99 earlier this month) vs (4) James Ward WR 143

His first seeded opponent this week!  He's met Bhambri once before, in the first round of the Bangkok Challenger 2 in 2010, when Dino won by 6-7(4) 7-6(1) retired.

My ATP app isn't working at work, but James must have saved at least 5/6 BPs in that game. Comes through and leads 3-2*

James saves 4 SP's (including 2 against Bhambri's serve) to get back to *6-6 in the breaker
