RE: Week 44 - ATP 1000 - BNP Paribas Masters, Paris (indoor hard)

Forgot about this with all the excitement of multiple Brits in Charlottesville!
Aljaz won the first set 7-5 and is serving at 1-1 in the second

4 all in the second. The last was a long game and Aljaz had several BPs but Gruntollers saved them with aces.

Well done to Aljaz today having come through qualifying. Good to draw a fellow Q but a nice looking win, and impregnable on serve throughout. Tough ask against Isner but nothing to lose and everything to gain :)

So he can do Andy a big favour by taking out Fed and ensuring Andy keeps #2

Well I can dream. . .

Dom & Robert should've been facing the Italian sixth seeds, Simone Bolelli & Fabio Fognini, but "Foggy" has apprently withdrawn with an ankle problem.

Good for Dom and Robert. And while a pity for Colin and Andy, I'm far from convinced about Andy playing DC Final doubles so maybe not the worst pair of results.

Now get some good singles in, Andy.

Are they starting to wind down already? hmm  At least if Dom & Robert manage to beat the alternates, there'll be no danger of divided loyalties in the quarter-final!

No idea, doubt it though. So you were wondering last week when they actually had a good week overall. They've lost a tennis match to a decent pair - happens, though would have preferred it not to.

... though maybe saves me looking at a few more permutations re who they can overtake in the rankings !
