That is such a good result and great news for so many reasons. Great for Neil's confidence, 8 points in the bag and a guaranteed GB finalist with a minimum 15 points for either Jonny or Neil.

Bomb a few aces down to hold, break to 15, hold from 2 BPs down, let poor Viola have a game as prepare for TB, and TB 7-3, yay !

Not a great day for high ranking Italians. (6) Sam Barry (IRL) (Q) puts (1) Giustino out 2-6 7-5 7-6 (2)

Good result for him as some clever person predicted yesterday.

Looking again at Neil P's win,(which I didn't quite predict but certainly alluded to) he has beaten a guy of pretty strong pedigree there. Viola has been in top 200 every year since 2010 with a CH of 113, so a really good result for Neil, and turned into a very strong week for GB.

Lot of guys away in US qualifying and main draw and then the up and comings seeing off top 5 seeds by the end of the quarters! makes LTA decision to keep cutting back on Futures all the more baffling, a subject I will return to later.

And to think Marcus Walters came within a whisker of knocking Sam Barry out in the qualifiers.
