Tara would provisionally go up to GB number 4 if she were to win another title here ( although the current number 4 Amanda Carreras is due to compete in the Brazil 25K next week, and it will also count towards the post Aussie Open rankings ).

That does though say more about our current lack of back-up to the top 3.

Hopefully the younger players will continue to significantly progress. That and some injuries clearing up could make that situation look considerably healthier later this year. And Tara herself certainly has the talent to get back up much higher in the rankings.

Certainly there is general optimism about this in our 2016 predictions. We ended last year with 4 in the top 300 and are now down to 3, but as far as I can see the least top 300 players anyone has predicted are five folk going for 6 in the top 300 ( I went for 7 ).
