Probably not the best preparation then. For sure though I wouldn't be too upset about missing Memphis if the boys made the final.
Evo to serve *5-4

Another great performance. If Dan can continue his level so far this week, there's no reason he can't beat Ito tomorrow

No SE's at this level?

No as they are different tiers. You can only get SE if you are playing at the same level.

Thanks paulsi and jester. I hadn't realised they were different levels, and I didn't know the rule anyway. something learnt

If Dan keeps playing to that level, he will take the title. Impressive again.

Dan looks very focused yet relaxed, less of the nervous tension I've seen previously. i agree pretty faultless performance

Good luck Dan - keep it up please.

Something tells me Jan is going to be very happy when she wakes up tomorrow.

How many UEs did Dan make whilst still playing with controlled aggression??!!  It was a really tremendous performance.   I watched the of Ito v. Tiafoe, very entertaining, but I think Dan will fancy his chances against Ito

Dan shouldn't worry about Memphis.  He needs to win here and be ready to make hay in March.  Indian Wells and Miami offer $3k for winning just one match in qualies, and if he doesn't make it to the second week of those tournaments, there are big challengers close by.  In April he should go on holiday, clay is for making crockery, not tennis!

I wonder what Leon's thoughts re DC selection are right now?

The other observation I make is that whilst Dan is a short arse, every time an an opponent has lobbed him this week, he  has moved back beautifully and  nailed the overhead.

I hope tomorrow's match is at a sensible time.

Time for bed!

Still not sure it's new Dan, but I'll settle for interim Dan when he turns out like that. Cracking performance.

I wonder if it's something to do with Kyle being around, competition/support. Near enough ranking for him to aim at.

It will be interesting if they both get to the final, cracking match, I wouldn't like to guess at a winner.
