Great! Heres hoping we get both into the semi's again! Excellent choice of tournaments and a great run by both! Having known Hilts, theres no doubt he has been a great influence on both, he was ever the professional. Keep going lads
Only half watched but did I notice Dan hit a couple of high loopy topspin backhand returns in that match? I don't recall ever seeing him do that before.
I'm intrigued as to what people think both Dan and Liam's chances are against the Milkman or each other. Obviously Dan has the better chance of beating him (I make Dan is a big favourite against Sugita though I guess that is no certainty). I'd love to see Liam take Millman out and see them play each other but would expect a fairly comfortable win for Dan even if Liam had found form to get there.
L16: (SE) Liam Broady WR 257 defeated (ALT) Daniel Nguyen (USA) WR 206 by 3 & 5
****
QF: Liam Broady WR 257 vs (2) John Millman (AUS) WR 67 (CH = 61 in February)
Recap:
L16: Dan Evans WR 97 defeated (WC) Nam Ji Sung (KOR) WR 566 by 3 & 2
*****
QF: (7) Yuichi Sugita (JPN) WR 113 (CH = 97 in March) vs Dan Evans WR 97
Sugita is actually WR 111 isn't he?
Don't really fancy Liam's chances against the Milkman. I remember their match a couple of years ago and the Milkman was so solid, resulting in Liam making errors and berating himself. Hopefully Dan can keep his momentum going though and gain some revenge for that defeat in Wimby qualifying last year.

Speaking of Liam berating himself, has anyone else noticed a significant improvement in his temperament? I've watched him a lot on live stream over the past couple of years and these last few weeks I've not once heard him shout about how bad, terrible, uncoordinated etc he is even after a few poor points in a row. Maybe connected to his upturn in form?
Yes, Liam seems much more positive in body language ( as well as verbals ) and positive in strokeplay. Very good to see, and as one who has had real doubts about where he was heading it is certainly good to see a bit of a turnaround for now, and long may it continue and be built upon.
