Storrie serves two consecutive DFs to go 1-4 down in the breaker...

Ryan lost the TB 7-6(5)

Which, given the number of BPs he had to defend, was probably the fair result, overall, if there had to be one.

But VERY close.

And after having gone a break down at the start of the second, he's got it back at 2-2

Ryan wins the second set 6-3

Which was also the fair result - Ryan kept going for his aggressive shots, Wolf looked a little jaded, but good tennis from both.

Allez, Ryan !

Ryan, you beauty !

7-5 in the third

And a huge well done to Jay too - shame it wasn't streamed.

Luke Hammond, as has been said before, is one of our most under-ranked players, given he's played so few tournies compared to the others. (Or maybe our best ranked player on points divided by tournies played, to put it another way).

And, being so tall and 'slim', will always mature into himself as a player slightly later than the shorter guys.

And is 'one of ours' in that Matt posts on here (his coach - Hi, Matt !).

Anyway, he's just taken the first set on a tie-break, against a French lad who looks uneasy on the grass.

Well done to Ryan - his opponent seemed to have a slight edge in power, but Ryan was more solid on the big points.

Luke is currently on the live stream - and nice to see a junior keen to get to the net at any opportunity. He has just won the first set tiebreak.

Finn is a break down in the first set.

Great win by Luke - he looks thrilled, and rightly so

Two tie-breaks.

Luke took charge of the second set tiebreak to complete a straight sets win

Finn leads 5-2 in the second with Moeller just coming back from 0-40 to deuce

Moeller went on to hold from 0-40 and break back, but Finn was able to get the win in the end 6-4 7-5

And Finn wins too

He had some great results at about this time last year, so it obviously suits him ...

And just to mention:

Last year, not a single UK boy passed round 1 of Junior Wimbly.

This year, we have four wins already !!!

Well done to Jay, Ryan, Luke H and Finn.

And good luck to the others who haven't played yet.
