Week 11 - Challenger ($75,000) - Drummondville, Canada (hard)

Oh blimey. Ed Corrie goes to Canada and gets Shapovalov twice in one tournament? There should be a rule against that, even if the young Canadian is injured. Best of luck to Mr Corrie. And well done to Liam Broady! Those are two nice wins.

Ed has also entered the double partnering Sekou Bangoura. They have another Canadian WC pairing in the form of Denis SHAPOVALOV and Feliz A-A.

Ed and Sekou lost 6-7(2) 6-4 10-7

Liam wins 7-6 6-3. Good to see the lad stringing a few together this week, long may it continue.

It is pleasing to see Liam stringing a few winns together.  I only watched the last couple of games, so I can't really make any comment on the level of play.  was suprised to see that Struvay let something get to him at deuce when he was a break down at 4-5 in the second set. Facing match point, he hit a big serve and slapped a shoulder high volley into the fence.

Congrats to Liam tohugh, I hope he can build on this.

Well done, Liam.

Ed vs Shapovalov will be on very late our time. It follows Felix Auger-Aliassime's match from not before 6.30 pm local, 10.30 pm GMT. Great for the Canadians to have such a strong young pair.

Yes. And young Bianca is mighty impressive on the girls sides too - age 16, ex top 5 in juniors, and currently WR 235

Horrible draw for Ed with so many points to defend he will not only drop out of the top 250 but probably down to 330-40 unless he does well here. Shapovalov then Halys and Blaz Rola he ll have to beat to stay in the top 300 and get to the semis is harsh.

It may be late but at least it doesn't clash with much else, only two nobodies Federer and Nadal are playing at the same time

L32: Ed Corrie WR 244 lost to Denis Shapovalov (CAN) WR 253 (CH 239 in January), age 17, JWR 7, JCH 2 6-4 6-3

Looks as if the young man was simply too good. Ed had no BPs in the match, Denis took 2/8 in all.

Still a closer score than that other match.
