Dunne and dusted. Katy defies predictions and beats Gabi in three sets.

After the first set, the momentum was with Katy for most of the rest of the match.

Rematch coming up in the doubles though, to follow the mens on court 1

There was an MTO in the middle of the third set.

Presumably for Gabi? (Although maybe also to take stock....)

Pleased for Katy - and a playable-ish second round, for a 100K, whoever wins.....

Looking at the momentum graph, it was one-way traffick to 3-0 - then with serve for the rest of the set. You could well be right .....

Yes well done Katy, it's been grim so far on the grass in both men's and women's we need someone to go ok a run like Tara last year otherwise WCs at these big tournaments are pointless.

The grass court season is here - and with it the rain. But after a delay, they finished the matches that had started.
Katy and Harriet beat Gabby and Katie 6-4 6-1

And Vekic is out, beaten in three sets by Jamie Loeb

Weather is pretty miserable in London today, it's been raining all night, cold and high winds forecast. If there is much tennis today, it will be a case of who can cope with the conditions best.

OOP already looks to have been severely curtailed, only 4 matches now scheduled.

4 mens and 4 womens matches, using centre and No 3 courts only - starting not before 12:30pm.
Have they got "tents" for those courts - or are they the only ones with decent covers ? Or do they have a crystal ball for the weather ?

With the high winds and heavy rain, I wouldn't be surprised if rain got under the covers or covers got blown off some of the courts leaving only two usable today.
