Harriet Dart

I think Harriet thrives in the team format, she's previously been in the US league with the celebs. It's pretty clear she has been struggling mentally this year so maybe she decided this was a healthier way to get some match practice in.
I know Katie Swan has spoken about having imposter syndrome but I would say it's something that Harriet suffers from more. Was it Jon that overheard Katie Swan saying that a player thought she was better than she actually is and he felt she was referring to Harriet, I actually think the opposite, Harriet knows she is just missing that extra 0.5% (her serve) and struggles with that knowledge.
And there ends emmsies armchair psychiatry

yeah, it was on the train, she was chatting to Alex Bolt travelling down from Nottingham. They were watching a fellow Brit play at the time on their phones, it must have been at the back end of Nottingham so one of the players still in around then (may not even have been a Brit of course!) - it was a Friday if I recall correctly

Based on her Instagram it looks like Harriet has been working with a former top 300 Portuguese player - www.atptour.com/en/players/joao-monteiro/mm60/overview

Harriet is on the AO Qualifying Entry List however apparently she has been wearing a protective boot.

The boot is now off but I don't know if she will be fit for the AO. She'll probably leave it to the last moment before making a decision if she is still hopeful of being able to play. The only consolation is that, if she were to withdraw, Mimi would definitely be in.

Can she really go form a boot to plying Aus open qualifying in like 10 days?

It's a lot of money to turn down

The Aussie Open still pays for travel and accomodation, I believe, so it's all upside

And players of Harriet's rank depend on the Grand Slams for big pay days to keep the ship afloat

Obviously no point trying if you're sure you can't

But I'd expect her to roll the dice and try if there's even a small chance

Don't you get half the fee if you are a late withdrawal or have they stopped that now?

They get half prize money only if they have played in the previous 3 weeks and withdraw on site

Does that half Money get deducted from a player that replaces them or is it just additional budget the tournament needs to allow for?

It's deducted from the prize money for the player replacing them for qualifying. I think its extra for the main draw
