There is a men's UTR event in Cardiff this week. The field is almost all British with just 2 non Brits entered. It's a mix of usual UTR players, college players and British Tour players including James Story, Marcus Walters and Raffaello Papajcik.
Tennis Scotland have partnered with UTR and will be hosting 4 combined $20k Pro Tennis Tour events next year, with more being worked on. As i understand it, these events will be part of the TS Open Tour. The first event will be at Stirling on the 4 to 10 January, with further events at Glasgow and Aberdeen later in the year.

Quite a few women playing UTRs next week Jasmine Conway, Brooke Black and Athina Schlepphorst are playing Boca Raton. Brooke and Athina are in the same group. Great to see Ali Collins back. She and Indi Spink are playing Carvoeiro, Portugal Hannah Read is playing Newport Beach.
And for the men Marshall Tutu is playing Carvoeiro, Portugal Matthew Carroll is in Krakow. Peter Alam is also in Krakow, but he seems to have switched to Lebanon according to his ATP profile. Harry Collins is in Melbourne
A very respectable scoreline for Hannah R against a top 350 opponent in Newport Beach
Hannah Read (10.0/UNR) lost to Carolyn Ansari USA (11.28/325) 5-7 7-6(7) 3-6
Made the 2nd set more difficult then it needed be, having been a break up for the whole set was twice broken serving for the set and then coming back from 2-5* in the tie-break to win it 9-7 saving 3 MPs along the way. Too many UEs at the beginning of the third quickly put her 0-3* behind. There were 25 breaks in total in this match!
Brooke Black (10.64/715) is through to the final in Boca Raton, Florida She beat Mia Slama USA (10.76/1122) in the semi-final 3&4 She will play Emma Jackson USA (10.?/708) in the final Streaming is on Prime Video, scheduled for 4pm. it seems to be free - you do not need to be subscribed to Prime, although an Amazon account is required.
Also in Boca Raton Jasmine Conway is in the final of the 9-12 play-offs Athina Schlepphorst is in the final of the 13-16 play-offs
In Newport Beach, California Hannah Read (10.0/UNR) topped her group and is through to the semi-final with a 3-1 record after Ansari who she lost to earlier in the week, withdrew yesterday. She plays Veronica Miroshnichenko (10.83/990), offically of the country of which one should not speak but displaying the Ukraine flag on her Instagram and UTR profiles, has a career high of 289 in May last year. Veronica seems to have been mostly playing on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour this year with 8 titles and is leading the PTT points race. So seems a tall order for Hannah to progress. Stream on Prime Video, scheduled i believe for 7pm.
They are behind schedule in Carvoeiro, Portugal with Ali Collins still having 2 group matches to play and Indi Spink and Marshall Tutu 1 group match to play. Earlier in the week Indi beat Ali comfortably 3 & 1. Despite not having won a match and the weather Ali seems to have enjoyed her week in UTRs and has been encouraging more women to play them. I'm sure she will be an advocate for this competition into her 40lovetennis mentoring and training business. Streaming for this event is on YouTube.
Joe Leather and Derrick Chen start in Honolulu, Hawaii today. Nice work if you can get it. I wish my job took me to Hawaii.
Thanks Lambda - does winning the UTR PTT points race give them anything - is there like a finals or maybe just some sort of cash bonus? Like the LTA British Tour leads to the Masters?
Any Brits featuring on the leaderboard?

The top 100 receive a cash bonus ranging from $10,000 for 1st place to $500 for 100th, providing they've played 4 or more PTT events.
Marcus Walters is 17th for a $2,200 bonus, Derrick Chen 42nd, Marshall Tutu 57th, Sean Hodkin 73rd, Cian Mcdonnell 90th Our women don't play the PTT much so Indi Spink is the only women at 98th but with only 3 tournaments. Playing this week is her 4th PTT to give her eligibility for a bonus.
Totalling all that up is quite a big overall bonus pool. Is this circuit sponsored by money from betting companies to create the case for all that cash? I cant imagine a sponsor outside betting would get any return on their investment?
