SF ( biggrin ):  (6) Marin Cilic (CR) WR 6 (CH = 4 last October) vs Kyle Edmund WR 49

The head-to-head is 1-0 in the Croat's favour:  he beat Kyle by 6-3 6-6(5) in the L32 of the Shanghai Masters last year.

I would actually prefer Kyle to play Nadal, Kyle would take advantage of Nadals WTA standard serve and smack him out of the park.

I would actually agree with you on this one, even though we know now that will not be the case. Given Kyle's performance against Rafa in Monte Carlo last year, he could have gone into this match with real belief.

But Cilic it is.  I guess if you have wins on hard courts over both Anderson and Isner, you don't have to fear anyone's big serve.  Cilic starts favourite, of course, but the way Kyle has handled himself so far, he is in with a decent chance.

I would really like Birdman to win the AO, he is a nice guy, has been unlucky in slams, and in another era, would have won a few. Plus his wife is very attractive.

Out all day, so first chance to get online!
Wow just wow!! Not enough superlatives to describe my reaction this morning!!!
Just brilliant biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I see it's Cilic next. Had sort of assumed Nadal would come through - and then we would have to hope he remembered that he was a clay court specialist.

Anyway, we will see - nothing's impossible. Also would like the Beeb to step up and show this live, PLEASE!!!

There is loads of decent eurosport streams on the web, if you fancy flirting with the law.

betfair covers most games of the open live. Just open an account with a small deposit. You can cash out with no penalties when you don't want to watch anymore

Bet365 does the same.

Indeed, Eurosport gives you a month subscription for £7.

If you're going to watch a fair bit of the Aussie open (or even just one match!), it seems to rude to illegally stream it when it's so cheap, really.

This is super. Best story now would be if Kyle won the whole thing. From the limited highlights I've seen, he seems to be enjoying good crowd support. Helps being a Brit there of course.

Yep, this new expressiveness on court is great to see. It's been a revelation and makes him a more engaging watch too.

The only time Kyle has looked remotely uncomfortable is when they stick a camera in his face and a microphone up his nose smile

I think we can forgive him that though.  If he keeps going as he is, he will get a lot of interview practice as well.
