And by coincidence, those wins over Freya and Tara were also at Loughborough. As was the British Tour Masters (which she also won). Must like it there.

Maybe she responds well to pink, if the arguably rather garish court surrounds are still as was.
Not surprisingly, Beth v Alicia is pretty tight. First set to Beth 6-4 having served for it at 5-2. Alicia a break up inthe third (almost a double break) at *3-1
Pitak the Elder looked competitive to start with, then Rueffer won eleven straight points to claim the first set, and bulldozed straight through the second.
Interesting to know and hope that good play from Alicia played a fair part. She advanced well herself last year and as suggested it looked that it might be tight. AlicIa should push up a few notches from being at her CH, clearly much more if she can win a MD round.
Kind of with any GB vs GB match the hope is that both play well and the winner was just better on the day.
Very pleased for Alicia. She's had some good wins recently. Nice to see some points to back it up.
I imagine both her and Beth are aiming to crack the top-500 and make Wimbly qualis (one way or another), at the very minimum this year. Top 400 is probably their main aim for the year. Beth presumably will have doubles aims too. (We need a few of our girls ranked about 300 to make it up to about 200 by June so that automatic wildcards can then be moved down to the next row). A lot of respect for both players - good luck to them.
