Bonkers!
Kasatkina failed to take 6BP and is having an uncharacteristic tantrum, very frustrated.
She then plays a bad service game, Jo breaks from absolutely nowhere.
Daria's coach down telling her exactly correctly, why have you changed? You had her on the ropes and just had to be patient.

Jo leads, *4-3

Speed gun tracker screen has gone into static haywire twice now. Bright and flashing very distracting, and at crucial points.

I'd contend that Jo didn't play well for any of single game in that set, and that Kasatkina played well in at least 6 of them.
Jo wins in though saved 7/7 BP.

Jo won more points 41-39. But she won 30/49 (61%) on serve as against 20/31 (65%). 1/2 BPs converted as against 0/7.

And won 1 set so far to 0, which has been the main aim to date. So well played on winning the points that ultimately really counted towards that.

Jo broke at the start of the second set.
But Kasatkina has finally taken a BP, her tenth, to level up. Kasatkina looking interested again. Crucial stage of the match.

From what I've seen this year so far, Joyce is easily the least impressive of Jo's last three coaches - at least in the on court coaching - and is a long way distant behind Fissette & Carril. He's similarly inspipd today.
Kasatkina wins threee games running, and seems to have the wind in her sails, which Jo needs to stop quickly.

A challenge on the final point overruled by mm on hawkeye.
I only see one winner now, and it's not Jo, sadly. 135 minutes in already. Exhausting vewing, too.

Ah boo. Kasatkina was always in it and did well in the tiebreaker actually to win the last 4 points. Last point was a screamer.
