Really enjoying this now. Dan's playing great and I think he's in with of a chance of winning. But even if he doesn't, keeping Istoman out there for 5 sets must be of benefit to us over the course of the 3 days.

Very well played. Dan showed great respect by shaking the Uzbeks coach's hand after the handshake  with Istomim.

Tears there from Dan. Shows what it means for him to come back and perform and for his country. Marvelous stuff. Some great tennis in the first rubber littered with errors but you felt the longer it went the more to came to Evo.

OK. OK. I know I am not supposed to be here this month, but when Dan Evans goes and does something like that, I have to have an outlet for my delight. Soooo pleased for Dan at a personal level. What it must have been like for him to be back in front of the big crowds that have always brought him inspiration. The emotion when he got over the line at the end was so raw, so natural and so heartfelt that I felt it with him. This result must surely motivate him to want more and more of this big time tennis.

Dan, this is where you belong, up there on the big stage. Delighted for you. Won't be long before you will be back on the main tour and playing on these big stages every week.

Really fantastic result from Dan, back performing on the big stage. I'm unable to watch the action as I'm on holiday, so just following the BBC text.
