They actually had five courts in play at the same time, so I still think they didn't have enough officials to play Katie S's match as well. The other2 outdoor courts were being used for practise, so it wasn't a result of the weather.
The SF is scheduled for 10:30 with the final at 17:00
Thanks the addict, strange priorities to end up with one of this week's SFs played but not the other.
Katie B looks as if she has probably done enough already to take out her March CH 189 on Monday week. Win the title and she certainly will set a new mark, closing to 8 ranking points behind Gabi.
Good to see these weeks in Portugal getting her an accumulation of wins.
Yes, I don't understand what happened with Katie S's match. I expected her to follow the doubles at least She was out there warming up before the doubles started so she was clearly expecting to play... Seems very strange that she didn't especially as there was at least one court and set of officials available. As stated is now clearly an advantage to Katie B, whatever transpires.
I have read an article which explains there were only 2 courts that were dry enough for official matchplay. The other two courts were used for training. Swan's match did not start after either of the matches on the dry courts finished because there was not enough natural light. It also says with rain forecast tomorrow, the referee has announced that should it rain the singles semi-final and doubles final will be played indoors at Jamor and the singles final will be played on Monday in Obidos.

The good news here is that they are out on court, some last mopping up and court preparations being done... and Katie S and Urszula starting to warm up... (And yes, I'd rather have the matches in the sun on the outdoors, even if Katie S has to play two today)
