21 seeds left - after one round, thats a lot to fall!

I haven't done the maths, but the BBC has a slightly different story:

"In total 21 seeds - 11 men and 10 women - have been knocked out in the opening round" That means that there are 64 - 21 = 43 left.

... or is this another ambiguity of English - 21 "have left" as opposed to 21 "are left"?

Hi Christ!  Sorry, when I said 21 left I meant left in and  men only , so as per beeb,  11 have gone. So we are saying same thing!

And they're right - 21 in total are out men and women, one third of the total seeds. Carnage at this early stage!

Aha. I had a sneaking suspicion that I may have misunderstood, I was just mistaken as the the nature of my misunderstanding!

and there was me thinking you would naturally understand anything and everything in some sort of omnipotent way. Maybe I misunderstood (on a larger more universal scale )!

You may be confusing me with the other chap with a similar name. He has a capital "C".

Sock is another seed on the verge of going out, he is having a truly terrible year after winning the Paris masters

Yeah, Sock (18) out in five to Matteo Berrettini.

Now Pouille (17) bites the dust, in five sets against the Austrian, Dennis Novak.

I see Karlovic is in another typical match. Currently 11 - 11 in the fifth after 3 of the first 4 sets went to TBs.

Kyle is 3rd match on Centre Court tomorrow. Follows Nadal in the 1st match and Jo Konta in the 2nd.

Good to see both GB Nş1s getting onto the main show court.

Going to stick my neck out here. Kukushkin has been on decent form recently. I predict he will beat Nadal tomorrow.

There again, I predicted England would lose on penalties so I wouldn't start placing any bets on my predictions.

Shame on you, Bob!  evileye  Then again, given the team's record in penalty shoot-outs, I expected it, too, so was ecstatic when it broke the hoodoo!

For he's a jolly good Pella
For he's a jolly good Pella
For he's a jolly good Pella
And so say all of us.

Cilic out in 5 sets to Guido Pella in 5, despite having been 2 sets up overnight

Get in, hate watching Cilic play. His ball bouncing before points winds me up a treat!

Kyle a set up and *4-5 in the 2nd but the whole match seems a bit flat. Would like to see Kyle stamp a bit more authority on the match as I am a bit concerned at the moment.

Well Klahn really handed that TB on a plate to Kyle with a string of unforced errors. Not that I'm complaining.

6-4 7-6(0)

One more to go Kedders.

L64:  (21) Kyle Edmund WR 17 defeated Bradley Klahn (USA) WR 168 by 6-4 7-6(0) 6-2  smile

His first appearance in the third round in SW19!

*****

L32:  (21) Kyle Edmund WR 17 vs (12) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 21 (CH = 1 in July 2011)

The head-to-head is 1-3 in Djokovic's favour, the one being the last 32 of the Madrid Masters, so on clay, earlier this year, when Kyle won in three sets & Djoko was at the start of his comeback.
