In fact, if you were being picky, there were some in the girls who were giving SO much advice from the side, that they were way out of order in that way, to be honest.
After all, how is Vicki Allen going to learn to win a match herself if she has her guy constantly (but constantly) telling her 'move to the left, do this, do that' from the sidelines? AND it didn't work!
Destinee Martins' one wasn't much better, either.
But the boys' coaches were all good - quite a few Scottish accents
Both Anton and George lost, Anton in two and George in three.
Hats off though to Blu Baker who won his R2 match in three sets.
Blu was really interesting to watch yesterday - I'd always followed him (coz of the name really) so I watched most of his match and he is an exciting prospect - tall (definitely over six foot), with a good technique, decent movement and obviously well taught (academy in the States, I believe). He just 'looks' like a proper tennis player. Well done to him.
Thanks for the insight CD. Tough one next for Aidan against the Australian Open champion and French Open semifinalist. Unfortunately the first Anglo-Colombian sporing match-up ended 2-0 to the South Americans

Jack played well in his QWC loss last week, good to see him building on the experience. Aidan has a tough test coming up again he has been well prepared. I have yet to see Blu play but hes making great use of his wildcard.

I am not surprised as I was impressed by Jack's performance in Qualy's particularly in the context that he was able to go toe to toe with a guy on the cusp of the top 100 at 16.
Obviously he struggled tactically against a good grass court player and red lined it far to much however against other juniors they are mostly in the same boat although Jack has had the advantage of being really tested on the same courts, infront of a bigger crowd. Can't hurt might help?
Yes, Jack was and is playing well. Very clean, very assured. Still don't think he should have got a quali wildcard but that is not his fault. It will be interesting to see what sort of schedule he goes for next year.
