Week 37 - Great Britain F4 ($15,000) - Nottingham (hard)

4 unseeded players left as well - still feel this will end up with an unseeded winner, or at least a finalist

Went down to see the singles matches today - wouldnt surprise me if Jack won the whole thing the way he was playing. Very mature performance. Hope I havent jinxed him...

It would be nice to see Jack play Billy in the final.  Then it would be good news whoever won.

Will this win give Jack a 3 digit ranking?

I wouldn't write off the college lads in the top half with Billy....

And am definitely hoping for a Jack v Imran semi ....

QF:  Lukas Ollert & Constantin Schmitz (GER/GER) CR 2524 (1396+1128) "defeated" (2) Billy Harris & Ben Jones CR 1689 (683+1006) by a walkover  cry

My livescore page has it the other way round and that it's the Germans who gave a walkover and the Brits won (which, without wishing them ill, would be good for the singles tomorrow as they both won and would mean that one of them is not feeling all that peachy).

Mine's still showing the Germans as having been given the walkover ( confuse ), but the ITF drawsheet does indeed have it the other way round, so I'll go with that:

QF:  (1) Jonathan Binding & Scott Duncan CR 1258 (777+481) defeated Elliott Farmer & Tiran Sanghera UNR (1602+0) by 4 & 2
QF:  (3) Sam Bothwell & Neil Pauffley CR 1941 (1177+764) defeated Adam Jones & Michael Shaw UNR by 4 & 1

QF:  Danil Glinka & Karl Kiur Saar (EST/EST) UNR (0+1552) defeated (4) Joel Cannell & James Frawley (AUS) CR 2133 (1303+830) by 7-6(3) 6-4  bleh
QF:  (2) Billy Harris & Ben Jones CR 1689 (683+1006) "defeated" Lukas Ollert & Constantin Schmitz (GER/GER) CR 2524 (1396+1128) by a walkover

*****

SF:  (1) Jonathan Binding & Scott Duncan CR 1258 (777+481) vs (3) Sam Bothwell & Neil Pauffley CR 1941 (1177+764)

SF:  Danil Glinka & Karl Kiur Saar (EST/EST) UNR (0+1552) vs (2) Billy Harris & Ben Jones CR 1689 (683+1006

No, would need at least 11 points in total.

2 points here so far takes him to 9 in total, ranked about the 1050s.

But another win and 6 SF points taking him to 13 in total would do the job.

Don't write off Penno. Very capable of winning this event.

As anticipated, the college lads are doing good.
Andy Watson leading Billy, 5-2.
And Ryan P has beaten the 4th seed German by a retirement

I don't know anything about Andrew Watson.  Any info would be gratefully received.  Is he going back to college in the US this year?
