Week 37 - Great Britain F4 ($15,000) - Nottingham (hard)

Well done Jack. I nearly went along to watch that, but other things took over. Managed to follow most of it though. Great result.

It would be good to hear a court side report from someone if possible?

Yes. having got back from *0-3 to 3-3* then from *3-4 0-15 Jack won 12 of the last 13 points including the last 8.

The German forum must have been tearing their hair out.....

And couldn't quite bring off the miracle - Imran goes down 4-6 in the third....

Bet the Germans, having the 4th and 5th seeds, and another MD entry, didn't think that qualifier Schmitz would be their last man standing.....

Got to be a decent chance for Jack, though.....

This could be completely wide open, I'll make a gamble and say an unseeded player will win it. Just a feeling

So 3 out of 4 left are unseeded and the one left is the 8th seed...could prove correct for a change

Trumpets and blowing come to mind!

Get your blowing in before the conclusion

But yes it has had the feel of a wide open tournament.

The next two weeks look equally open, be interesting to see if someone from the brits can put together a decent series rather than just one week

Big difference in acceptance lists, isn't there?

The 18th guy on Nottingham's is 1071. In London, the 18th guy is 865. But in Barnstaple the 18th guy is 1346 !!!

Which just backs up my theory that the LTA should put on events as far from big airports as possible and in towns that most foreigners have never heard of.

So, yes, great opportunity for the Brits. Ryan P is certainly on the list for all three and going great guns here. (Draper and Watson are not in the Barnstaple list)

As  a theory it probably makes sense, so much easier for overseas entrants to play London. I reckon Inverness and Anglesey are due a turn...

Yes, Barnstaple certainly v weak, almost rivals the events in Australia next week or two!
