Interestingly draper, Watson and aswat are all missing from next week's entries

I see that Draper is down for the 25k in Nigeria the week after so it would make sense, I guess, for him to have a week off, before making the trip out.

George Loffhagen is also not in Barnstaple, but is down for the 25k in Sweden so he might be doing the same (although I wonder if he'll ask for a WC at Barnstaple, given he's lost in R1 two weeks in a row).

Looks like a late start to proceedings is it raining down in South East today?

 Not where I am - north-east London

Feel sorry for George. But at least Mark Whitehouse gets the benefit:

L16: Mark Whitehouse (GBR) WR 847 def. (4) Quentin Robert (REU) WR 715 w/o

Jonny Gray [3] has just lost the first set to Bellier, 4-6

Neil P [8] has just lost the first set to Gautier, 3-6

Aidan was 4-2 up but has now lost the first set 4-6 to Watson

Neil P was 6-2 up in the third set tb. But ended up losing it 9-7. Which included 2 dfs.
I remember Sherbert saying she once suggested to Neil to have some mental coaching. And he wasn't having any of it.
Maybe she had a point, Neil......

Neil had 4 match points at 6-2 in the 3rd set TB, lost all then double faulted at 7-7 and lost it 7-9.

Jonny lost 4-6 1-6.

Aidan vs Andrew 1 set all

Looks like JonH might have a good point here, as well as last week

Today has seen losses by the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th seeds.

With the 5th and 6th having lost yesterday.

So there's only Crepatte (for young Jack to take care of?) and Finn left in as seeded players.....

Ah, someone does read my posts wink

Thing is, there are so many younger and relatively unknown players, with a generally weaker field than normal that both weeks have looked ripe for unknowns to plunder. If Draper and Watson do get deep into the week again then they will have done v well in such a circumstance to show consistency. But overall, in these types of weeks, rankings seem fairly meaningless to me - maybe not on a match by match basis but as a whole for the week.

To make things more exciting, next week looks like it will prove to be equally wide open as well!

Crepatte won the first set v young Jack; Finn is about to go to one set all having won the first

'Course we read 'em, Jon

Young Jack has been true to form and come back to win the second set.....

Anton Mat was leading in the first set all the way up until the vital moment and ended up losing it 5-7 to Josh P but is a break up in the second.

Finn is now serving for the match at 6-5 in the third against Samm B

Mike Shaw and George Davies seem to have won their QF dubs by a w/o - hope Sean and Nick are OK.

But that's an ATP doubles ranking now for both of them so bravo

Nearly three it away. He had a big lead in the final set.
