Q1: James Ward CR 223 (CH= 89 in 2015) vs Jason Jung (TPE) CR 123 (CH = 114 in July this year)

Andy has a wildcard into the MD and Cam is also there. Looking at the official Twitter page, there is a 'Salisbury' on the practice schedule so that might mean its Joe Salisbury?

Ward's match is on at 3 pm local time (I assume). Not sure when that means in UK time.

Interesting, and looks like Joe may be partnering Ben McLachlan WR 21.

3 pm local time for James will be 8 am UK time. All of China is 7 hours ahead of BST.

Joe and machlachlan are top seeds, with a bye in a strange 15 pair field. Surely they could have found a 16 th pair?-

Cam also in doubles playing with Kudla

Ward lost in straight sets.

In main draw Andy and Cam both play wild cards in first round.

However it gets tougher after that. Andy would play top seed Goffin, and Norrie would face third seed Coric

I suppose with them not being seeded, they very pretty likely to get a seed in the L16 and had Cam been in line to face any of Tsitipas, Shapovalov, ADM or Verdasco (in addition to the 2 the GB lads could face) then we'd be saying tough match as well. It's only really Dzumhur and Seppi where you might have fancied his chances.

Hopefully both at least avoid the banana skins and see what happens after that.

 don't worry I wasn't really commenting on my previous comment so much as wondering about a bye place in a 16 draw field. Just seems criminal and surely Joe and machlachlan would have preferred a run out against a weak pair, even a local pair as an onsite sign in, two players from qualies singles field etc?
