Andy[s always been a natural defender, one of the things that Mr Lendl helped turn around. I guess he's gone back to his comfort zone. not totally unexpected, but also not helpful.
OK not really fair I guess to judge Andy too much at this stage.
But you are right, Lendl was the one both times who made Andy consistently more aggressive, on the front foot where he is naturally more defensive, reactionary and enjoys variation ( when he started talking about maybe playing with a bit more variation and fun under Mauresmo I groaned ) and boringly aggressive won big things. And also is one of the greatest counters to some who question the difference coaches can make.
