Lakat is a Frenchman and was at Berkeley until he graduated this year, which I guess is why he's got wildcard and is playing here.
In fact, I seem to remember he won the doubles title here last year.
He's been pretty successful at college tennis but has been playing full time on the pro circuit for the last couple of months - has done well at a couple of futures events recently and says his tennis is great but his physique lets him down when he has to play several matches in a row.
Tall guy, well built, hits a very heavy ball, definitely underranked at 780 in my view .....

QR2: (q1) Liam Broady WR 230 vs Jared Hiltzik (USA) WR 443
It just shows the gulf between College and Challenger Tennis, doing well in college is not enough to make an ATP singles career on the ATP tour you have to be a dominant force in college even as a freshman very much a question of already being a potential force in futures and choosing to go to college rather than as a fall back. Very hopeful Paul Jubb will prove me wrong never the less it will be fun following the game****s this season to see how things unfold.

Unfortunately Liam is only barely making an ATP singles career too - this year he should have come out in the black (largely thanks to the Wimbledon MD wildcard) but unless he manages to put some wins together soon, next year is looking very unlikely.
