Part of me wonders if Jack is almost best off just taking the rest of the season off and recovering completely; must be better than continuous stop and false start? Theres only 4 months left and after the US Open nothing worth risking himself for

would that be long enough? I cant recall how long it took Arthur to recover fully, but was it over a year?

It would surely give him much more chance. The bone clearly needs rest and apparently the sooner you put stress on it again you are taking a risk. He seems to me to be playing with fire in seemingly looking to go as soon as he thinks he is ready. I do think Jack should at least call it quits for this year.
But it appears the frustration over such a brutal run of luck rather than a serious injury was the root of Draper's tears and he has continued training in North America before the Cincinnati Open, where the main draw begins next Thursday. Draper has received a wild card for the event, which will also serve as a chance to prove his fitness and competitiveness to the USTA.
Draper was outside of the main draw cut-off for the US Open, which starts on August 30, and so he will need to come through qualifying if he does not receive a wild card. The fact he reached the semi-finals in 2024 will bolster his claim, but the likes of Stan Wawrinka, Grigor Dimitrov and Gaël Monfils will also be requesting one, while the majority are reserved for American players.
