That was a nervy match! Harriet showed great determination I thought, especially in the final set. I felt like she didn't relax until all her challenges had been used. I especially loved how she put her hand up like she was in school for every challenge, too.
Great to see her taking the risk by playing in Brisbane, rather than one of the W25s. She's got nothing to lose on Tuesday!
In case you weren't able to watch it, I wrote up a quick report after the match. Trying my best to write up more British tennis results this year as I feel there's a distinct lack in the British media, unless it's Konta, Murray, Edmund or Evans. Would love your feedback as ever :)

Yes, an interesting read of the match Nick! I see the BBC has finally acknowledged Harriet's Brisbane victories, which doesn't provide any account of the match but provides a short quote from her.
Tremendous start to the year for Harriet and it will no doubt give her lots of confidence moving forwards. 80 points is a great total to have in the bank at this stage, even without considering that she doesn't drop any big counters for a while yet.
havent seen any of the train camp with the new coach or herd to much interesting to see how we go this year with jo
a top 10 win cant complain
well done
harriet and jo aledy doing gb proud this year what is this optimism thing??? they got me feeeling chipper about it all lol
ajla tom next for jo
they played in the r16 her last year to! jo won in the third set but ajla was wr120 then and finished they year in the top 50 so likely to be very close this time again
Good stuff. Sloane may be the most inconsistent top 10 player and don't know the quality of the match but on the face of it a very encouraging start to the year.

Ha, apart from all the other inconsistent players, who, due to their inconsistency aren't in the top 10 anymore...(Garbi, Penko etc)
harriet gets sevastova wr11 seed 8
anastasija almost never play bad and also is very smart and unorthodox on court a real difficult test even given harriets great exploits this week any more than a couple games against the latvian will be good showing
